About Us

Woolston Scout Group was established in 1965 and has gone from strength to strength ever since! We were originally based in the Warren Lane Mission and moved into our own Scout Hut on Hall Road in the late 60’s.

This Scout Hut has been home to hundreds of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers (previously called Venture Scouts!) through the years and has undergone two major building projects to keep it fit for purpose and expand to suit our growing membership.

We’re all about adventure and gaining skills for life. Our members enjoy a variety of activities from archery, canoeing, hiking and camping to opportunities to perform on stage, and to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh Award as well as the Chief Scout Awards and ultimately The Queens Scout Award.

We are completely self financing, we raise funds from membership subscription and through a fundraising committee.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
